The Swiss skier Lara Gutová-Behramiová definitely won the big globe for the overall evaluation of the Women’s Alpine Skiing World Cup and also the small one for the giant slalom.

To confirm both globes, it was enough for her to finish in the top fifteen in today’s giant slalom. She chose to drive to be safe, she was eighth in the first lap, and after reaching the finish line in the second she was in fourth place.

“It’s unbelievable. The giant slalom has always been very important to me. I was very nervous, I wanted to win it, but today I didn’t have a good day. Finally, she finished in tenth place and scored 26 points, so she ended up with 771 points in the giant slalom ranking, the second Federica Brignoneová has 750 points after today’s triumph. Sara Hectorová finished third with 583 points.

Petra Vlhová finished eighth in the giant slalom with 297 points.

In the overall ranking, Gutová-Behramiová currently has 1,680 points, Federica Brignone, who has 1,472 points, came in second place. She thus got ahead of Mikaela Shiffrin, who is third with 1,409 points.

There is one downhill and one super-G left before the end of the season, in both of which Gutová-Behramiová can win a small globe. In the downhill, she has a lead of 19 points over Sofia Goggio, who is injured, and 68 points ahead of the third Stephanie Venierova.

In the super-G, she has 69 points ahead of the second Cornelia Hutterová and 74 points ahead of the third Federica Brignone. The Super-G is scheduled for next Friday, March 22, and the downhill the day after.

Gutová-Behramiová won her second big globe in her career, her first one was from 2016. She has her first globe in the giant slalom, so far she only won them in super-G (2014, 2016, 2021 and 2023).

Giant slalom After the first round, Brignone was leading. She was 48 hundredths of a second ahead of the second Stjernesund, while Robinson (+0.85) was in third place.

In the second, all 24 skiers presented themselves, who had to cope with difficult conditions, as the temperatures were again above zero in Austria.

Robinson put in an aggressive ride in the second lap to move into second place, Stjernesund finished behind her, but it was enough for the podium. Brignone did not give her ride a chance to the competition and enjoyed the triumph.
