Prime Minister Sophie Wilmès said at the National Security Council on Wednesday that the pools could not reopen until July 1. This is confirmed on the Crisis Center website which specifies that “the indoor and outdoor pools remain closed until June 30, 2020” but also that “swimming is allowed in other places provided that the rules in force as well as the signs are respected. ”
This concerns the sea but also other possibilities for outdoor swimming, according to the spokesperson for the Crisis Center, Yves Stevens. Recreational areas will be able to authorize access to their lakes and ponds from Monday if they wish.
However, they must comply with the regulations in force which provide that swimming in the sea as well as in ponds and lakes is only permitted if lifeguards are present. The changing rooms and showers must remain closed.
