– To win, the Russians must be fought both on land and in the air, but also on stands and in marine environments. Many important operations have been done using smaller boats on the rivers that flow through Ukraine, here the supplies we send will come in handy. It is about battleships, group boats, underwater drones, and underwater weapons in the form of dive bombs, Joar Forssell, the Liberals’ foreign policy spokesperson and member of the foreign affairs committee.
In an interview with SVT Nyheter, Lieutenant Colonel Joakim Paasikivi agrees with Forssell that the supplement can help, not least in the Dnipro river delta.
– You get a better ability as Stridsbåt 90 is made primarily for the Swedish archipelago. The same problem exists in the river delta with shallow waters and the need to be able to make transitions between water and land, says the lieutenant colonel.

The biggest support package to date
The total bill for the material sent is expected to amount to SEK 7.1 billion. Of this, only Stridsbåt 90 accounts for approximately one billion kroner and the remaining marine equipment another billion kroner.
– Through the support to Ukraine, we are also investing in our own security. We will continue to support Ukraine as long as it takes, says Defense Minister På Jonson at this morning’s press conference.
