Sval Energi makes major acquisitions on the Norwegian shelf

– The sales agreements are in accordance with the strategy of Spirit Energy’s owners to reduce the carbon intensity in the portfolio, says CEO Chris Cox and adds that “Sval Energi is buying a solid business”.

The employees in Spirit Energy Norway will be transferred to Sval Energi. Spirit Energy will continue its operations in the United Kingdom and the Netherlands.

Equinor has secured all of Spirit Energy’s production licenses in the Statfjord area, which extends across the Norwegian and British continental shelves.

The total sales amount is just under 1.1 billion dollars, which corresponds to around 9.7 billion kroner. In addition, there is a sum that is linked to gas prices.

Completion of the sales is expected in the first half of 2022. The sales must first be approved by the relevant authorities.
