SV Stripfing – The catfish in the carp pond

The first few weeks were mixed for Stripfing’s summer newcomer Moritz Wels. The Austria cooperation player had to struggle with knee problems and missed parts of the preparation due to illness, but is now getting better and better. On Friday in Dornbirn he set up the first goal perfectly for Darijo Pecirep and scored the second himself. At halftime he had to stay in the dressing room with a stomach ache.

“He demonstrated well, I’m really happy for him. “He kept the opponent busy and did well,” praised coach Christian Wegleitner. During the week in the cup against GAK, the 19-year-old played his first 90 minutes for Stripfing, Wegleitner and his team slowly introduced him. The fact that we managed to get two scorer points is satisfying: “You get an idea of what the guy is capable of achieving.”

Wels himself wants to build on his performance from Friday against St. Pölten: “A confident performance from the team. Of course I’m happy that I was able to contribute to the victory with a goal and an assist.” He is happy to have ended up at SVS: “I’m happy to have the opportunity to perform in the 2nd league at SV Stripfing and to recommend myself for the Austria fighting team. I will do everything I can to develop myself further, to get the best out of myself and to deliver. No matter where I’m deployed.”
