Sustainable tourism, Inguat’s commitment for the next hundred days – Publinews – 2024-03-01 03:00:28

Harris Whitbeck, director of Inguat, and the deputy director of the institution, Ericka Guillermo, announced this Thursday the strategic lines for the next hundred days, with the purpose of Guatemala being positioned as one of the three best destinations in Latin America.

This strategy, according to Whitbeck, focuses on sustainable tourism. In addition, he reiterated the value of tourism as the main axis of the government as one of the engines of economic development.

In its hundred-day plan, Inguat contemplates work focused on six strategic axes:

• Institutional strengthening
• Tourism sustainability
• Consolidation and development of tourism products
• Tourist information
• Tourism competitiveness
• Tourism marketing

The launch and promotion of a new tourism segment was also confirmed: gastronomy. This seeks to recognize the culinary wealth of our country.

International fairs

The Inguat authorities have highlighted the importance of participation in international meetings for the promotion of the country abroad. Likewise, experiences are shared with other nations for tourism management.
