The fireworks package actually targeted a couple who had complained about illegal fireworks on Facebook. The police already suspected this, but now the 24-year-old suspect confirms it himself to the court.

No one was injured by the explosion. The fireworks bomb did cause enormous damage to the home. Doors had been removed, an intermediate wall was blown away and cracks appeared in load-bearing walls.

The 24-year-old man from Espel (Noordoostpolder) was very emotional during the session in the court in Lelystad when answering questions from the judge. “I am so sorry what happened that it was never meant to be,” he stated. “I never wanted it that way. We would scare people, but not put them in danger. ” The public prosecutor comes on Friday afternoon with her sentence against him.

The criminal case of the second suspect, a 28-year-old man from Urk, who allegedly took the initiative to make and place the fireworks bomb, has been postponed until December 23. He changed lawyer shortly before the hearing.
