Suspected Terrorist Arrested in Tangsel Resigns from Bank After Becoming Habib’s Sympathizer Page all

TANGERANG SELATAN, KOMPAS.com – SN, one of the suspected terrorists who was arrested by the Special Detachment (Densus) 88 Anti-terror Police on Friday (20/1/2023), is known to have asked his father’s permission to become a well-known Habib sympathizer.

This was revealed by SN’s father named Nurji (70).

According to Nurji, his son asked permission to become a sympathizer about a year ago.

In fact, SN arrived resign from the bank where he worked because he considered the profession to be usury.

“Before the divorce he worked at a bank. Then he told his mother he wanted to be a sympathizer. That’s why he left the bank, he said usury. I said it’s up to you, it’s your own business,” Nurji said when met at his residence in the Pondok Aren area, Tangsel on Friday.

After leaving the bank, SN then worked as an online motorcycle taxi (ojol) driver as well as a habib sympathizer.

This profession, said Nurji, has been in SN since SN divorced his wife about a year ago.

However, Nurji emphasized that he had not known that his son was involved in terrorist activities.

“I only know that my son is a Habib sympathizer, I don’t understand where I went,” said Nurji.

“I don’t know what his activities are (this year) because he’s a bachelor. I know he rides motorcycle taxis, he doesn’t come home for sure, sometimes he comes home at night,” explained Nurji.

In total, the National Police arrested three suspected terrorists on Friday, namely the initials AS, ARH and SN.

Karo Penmas, the Public Relations Division of the National Police, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, said that AS was arrested in North Jakarta. The US comes from the Indonesian Islamic State (NII) terror network.

Meanwhile, the other two suspects with the initials ARH and SN came from community organizations that were declared banned in Indonesia.

“ARH was arrested in South Jakarta. SN is in Tangsel. Numbers 2 and 3 are the DPO for the March 2021 arrest of the Condet FPI group,” he said.
