Surinamese police arrest army officer with 500 kilos of cocaine | Abroad

The arrest happened in the Para district, about eighty kilometers south of Paramaribo. The police had to give chase to apprehend the man. An examination of the car revealed that the army officer had 15 jute bags with cocaine on him. There was also money in the car.

News site Waterkant reports that an amount of about $10,000 was found in the lieutenant’s car. According to the news site, the arrested soldier is also a member of the National Security Service of Suriname.
