The Special Chamber of Instruction of the Supreme Court of Justice opened a new formal investigation against the former senator and former ambassador of Colombia in Venezuela, Armando Benedetti. The Chamber linked him through an investigation for the alleged commission of the crime of concussion.

The investigation was opened by the Special Investigation Chamber, which will focus on establishing whether Benedetti would have requested money from lawyers and beneficiaries of judicial decisions on these benefits, so that the Fiduprevisora would pay those life pensions and settlements.
