Supreme Court of Cassation: No one is to blame for the collapsed building and the death of the two Alabin girls

No one is to blame for the collapse of Alabin Street 15 years ago. This was recorded by the Supreme Court of Cassation in its final decision.

Thus, the owner of the building Georgi Kirchev, the engineer who supervised the repair – Petar Petrov, Nikolay Simeonov, manager of the company engaged in the repair, and the builder Mancho Antonov were finally acquitted.

The first acquittal was handed down in 2018 by the Sofia City Court, and then upheld by the second instance.

The five-storey building in downtown Sofia collapsed on September 19th, 2006. Denitsa Chenisheva (26) and Petrina Hristova (24), who had stopped their car on the street, were trapped by the debris.
