LIPUTANBMR.COM, BOLTIM- The increasing number of dengue cases in Boltim Regency at the end of 2021 was immediately taken seriously by the East Bolaang Mongondow Health Office (Boltim) with a swift program to prevent dengue fever.

According to the Head of the Boltim Health Office, Eko Marsidi, between October and November there was an increase in dengue cases. “The total number of dengue cases in Boltim is currently 65 cases with 1 case dying in April. For October-November there were 6 cases and almost all of them were from Modayag and West Modayag sub-districts,”

Eko continued, in the prevention program, his party collaborated with the North Sulawesi (Sulut) Provincial Health Office, Manado (BTKL Environmental Health Engineering Center) and Manado Poltekes to come directly to Bolaang Mongondow Timur.

“Three days they held activities to prevent and control dengue. Starting from the socialization of DHF, Prevention and Appropriate Technology for DHF, Communicable Diseases counseling to the District Government, Modayag I, II and III Village Apparatus and Pinonobatuan,” he said.

In addition, “There is also an epidemiological investigation of dengue cases through sampling of dengue mosquito larvae, mapping or mapping of dengue cases and Fogging in the United Modayag area there are cases,” he continued.

He explained that this activity was very beneficial for the people of Boltim, especially the United Modayag. So it is hoped that all these activities must be followed by public awareness in implementing PHBS for Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (PHBS) and willing to carry out eradication of mosquito nests in and around the house.

“The regent has issued a circular letter number X/BMT/218/XI/2021 regarding dengue fever vigilance which invites the public to carry out eradication of mosquito nests in their respective homes and areas. Because only with this activity can we beat dengue fever together,” he said.

On this occasion, Eko also invited all levels of society to participate in vaccination activities in the working area of ​​the puskesmas.
