For Telegram’s 7th birthday (celebrated yesterday), the company has decided to update its application on iOS (and also on Android) in order to offer a new feature: video calls.
So, from now on Telegram users can make video calls, a feature that is long overdue by those who use the messaging service.
In one article published on the official blog Telegram, the team says the company decided to implement video calling this year, mainly because more and more people are now using “face-to-face communication” to chat with friends or to work at home. home during the coronavirus pandemic (COVID-19).
The company notes that the video call feature can be used by anyone who is using the latest version of Telegram on their devices in simply tapping on the user’s profile, then select the video call option.
According to Telegram, video calls are all protected with end-to-end encryption and as all other video content on Telegram, video calls support mode picture in picture. This will allow the user to scroll through the discussions and perform several tasks simultaneously while maintaining eye contact.
Finally, the company assures that video calls will receive more features and improvements in future updates to the app.
