In the first game on Sunday, the 1. VfL Potsdam received TV 05/07 Hüttenberg. What first seemed like child’s play looking at the table turned into an exciting game! In the beginning both teams started evenly, but then Mittelhessen made a good 4:0. But Bob Hanning’s team did not let themselves be shaken and remained within striking distance of Hüttenberger until the break. The recovery continued in the same way, so much so that the atmosphere heated up until the last minute. In the end, TV Hüttenberg won with a narrow final score of 31:32.
A home game against VfL Lübeck-Schwartau was scheduled for Sunday in Eulen Ludwigshafen. Especially in the first half of the game, the two teams didn’t concede anything. However, the Hanseatic city was able to pull away with two goals before the break, so that the score at 14:16 went into the locker room. And then the owls lit up! In the 39th minute the Ludwigshafeners first equalized and then directly the opening goal. At the end of the game Lübeck could not repeat the lead and so Eulen Ludwigshafen won easily with 36:30. Alexander Falk played an outstanding game, scoring 8/8 times!
TuSEM Essen also played confidently in its encounter with TV Großwallstadt. The first goal of the match wasn’t scored until the third minute, but then the Essen team continued to pull away. But TVG did not let them go completely away and equalized 9: 9 in the 34th minute. In the end, however, Großwallstadt had to admit defeat with a clear result of 18:25.
The match between HC Elbflorenz 2006 and TSV Bayer Dormagen was more exciting! It was a close match and neither team managed to break away until the last minute. It was only with a siren that Ian Hueter scored the decisive goal for 25:26 for Dormagen. The best pitcher of the game was Joshua Reuland, who scored an impressive seven goals for Wiesel.
