Summary proceedings ID&T against the government suspended for the time being

The summary proceedings that ID&T and thirty other event organizations had filed against the government will not take place tomorrow. ID&T reports that the case has been put on hold for the time being.

The festival organizers will first continue discussions with the cabinet about the tightened corona measures and the compensation for the damage they suffer. If no solution is found, the case will still be continued.

Yesterday, outgoing minister Hugo de Jonge proposed in a parliamentary debate to enter into discussions with the industry. Fieldlab and the Alliance of Event Builders initially did not like this, but have now agreed.

The conversation should provide clarity about how multi-day events can safely continue with one hundred percent of capacity and without 1.5 meters away. Among other things, there must be conditions for events to go ahead and a watertight system for Testing Before Access.

ID&T filed a lawsuit because the organizer believes that their events can be organized safely. Research by Fieldlab Events showed last April that events could continue with a series of safety measures.

The cabinet announced yesterday that it will release another 135 million euros to support organizers.
