The ongoing conflict in Sudan has resulted in a civilian death toll of 411 and 2,023 injured, as reported by the Sudan Doctors’ Syndicate. More than 50,000 Sudanese refugees, mostly women and children, have fled to Chad, Egypt, South Sudan and the Central African Republic, raising concerns of regional instability. The UK has conducted the largest evacuation of Britons from Sudan, with 1,888 people evacuated in 21 flights. However, gunfire and heavy artillery were reported in parts of Khartoum despite a ceasefire between the country’s two top generals. The conflict is now in its third week, with civilians running out of food and basic supplies.
