Sua the Vaccinated Chinese Foreign Minister, Luhut: We Are Like Aliens!

Jakarta, CNBC Indonesia – Coordinating Minister for Maritime Affairs and Investment, General TNI (Ret.) Luhut Binsar Pandjaitan recounts the other side of his meeting with Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi in Yunan, China, two weeks ago. The meeting discussed a number of matters relating to cooperation between the two countries.

However, there is something interesting about it the Covid-19 vaccine. According to him, Chinese officials no longer wear masks because they have been vaccinated.

“Nobody wears these masks anymore. So those of us who are aliens come there, we wear masks, because we have to wear masks,” said Luhut while speaking at the National Defense Institute, Jakarta, Friday (23/10/2020) .

“So they are gone. I asked the minister of foreign affairs. I said, have you injected the vaccine? He replied that he had Sinovac, he had already injected him. He said you injected it too,” he continued.

However, Luhut admitted that he could not be injected because there was no emergency use authorization yet.

“We have to wait. Those are the rules, so we must also obey the rules,” he said.

The former Coordinating Minister for Politics, Law and Security also said that President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) had just called him regarding the Covid-19 vaccination. According to him, Jokowi reminded that security was a major concern.

“Earlier the president called me. At first we wanted to, because we got the goods, the plan for the second week of November could not be reached the second week of November, not because the goods were ready, but because the emergency use authorization had not been issued by the BPOM (Food and Drug Administration) because there are rules, steps that must be obeyed, “he said.

“And I saw that the president did not want to run away from there. He said security was number one,” he continued.

Then, when will the Covid-19 vaccination be carried out?

“So yes, we’ll see how long, and I talked to the Indonesian Technical Advisory Group on Immunization (ITAGI) last night, the professors are in the same language. So I think the government really respects the rule,” said Luhut.
