Styrian People’s Party’s Charity Advent Market Mulled Wine Stand Raises Funds for Cancer Aid Styria and Leukemia Aid Styria

At the charity Advent market at the Iron Gate in Graz, the Styrian People’s Party’s mulled wine stand is for a good cause. All proceeds will benefit the Austrian Cancer Aid Styria and the Leukemia Aid Styria.

GRAZ. As every year, various organizations have come together at the Iron Gate to collect donations for various aid organizations in the run-up to Christmas by selling mulled wine, punch and the like. From November 18th to December 23rd, the Styrian People’s Party has also been running the “white-green Christmas room” for a good cause. The Advent stand is run by officials and employees – in addition to Governor Christopher Drexler, state councilors and local councilors from all over Styria serve warming drinks.

The net proceeds from the campaign will be donated to the Austrian Cancer Aid Styria and the Leukemia Aid Styria. “Volunteers from all over Styria – from Liezen to southeast Styria, from the local council to the state councilor – help together and serve the good cause. I invite everyone to come by the ‘white and green Christmas room’, together to be and talk to each other,” said Governor Drexler.

Regional products

Particular emphasis was placed on regionality when selecting the drinks on offer: they all come from Styrian production – from the non-alcoholic apple punch from the agricultural and forestry college in Kirchberg am Walde to the mulled cider from Feldbach and the Schilcher mulled wine from Mooskirchen and St. Stefan ob Stainz. Christmas tree decorations in the shape of the Styrian panther are also available, which can also be purchased for a good cause.

Large use of cancer and leukemia aid

“The Styrian Cancer Aid feels extremely honored and valued by the support of donations from the proceeds of the Styrian People’s Party’s charity punch stand at the Iron Gate. The fact that we were selected from a large number of eligible aid organizations is a great honor and at the same time a surprise for us “To continue to do our best every day for the Styrian population across the country,” says Christian Scherer, Managing Director of the Austrian Cancer Aid Styria.

The Leukemia Aid Steiermark says: “The non-profit organization Leukemia Aid Steiermark has set itself the goal of helping the seriously ill patients of the clinical department of hematology at the University Hospital of Graz and their relatives, but also of supporting the important basic research “The financial resources required for this are obtained exclusively through membership fees and donations. It is all the more pleasing that the Leukemia Aid Steiermark was selected as the recipient of donations from the proceeds of the Styrian People’s Party’s mulled wine stand.”
