VfB Stuttgart is back in the 1st German Bundesliga!
The Swabians fix second place and thus the promotion despite a 1-3 defeat on the last match day of the 2nd Bundesliga at home against Darmstadt 98.
Also hope to continue playing in the Bundesliga next year, 1. FC Heidenheim. Although the Heidenheimers lose away with league champions Arminia Bielelfeld with 0: 3, they end the season due to the simultaneous failure of Hamburger SV, who loses against SV Sandhausen at home with 5: 5, but still on the relegation place.
Due to the defeat of Heidenheim, a tie would have been enough for the Hamburgers to keep the chance of advancement in the relegation duel with Werder Bremen alive.
Stuttgart, which had almost ascended before the last matchday due to a significantly better goal difference compared to Heidenheim, is struggling against Darmstadt in half one.
It is Dursun who brings Darmstadt an acrobatic lead (32nd), but Stuttgart strikes back before the break – Mario Gomez, who plays his last game for VfB, takes care of the equalization (42nd). In the second half of the game Darmstadt goes again thanks to a hit from Bader in the front (53.).
After a little more than an hour, Darmstadt’s Palsson flies off the pitch after two yellow cards (66.), but Stuttgart can no longer take advantage of this, in the final phase Kempe even lets the 3-1 (87.)
Sasa Klajdzic (VfB) comes into the game from the 82nd minute for the migrating Mario Gomez, Mathias Honsak comes into play from the 73rd minute (Darmstadt).
Sandhausen shows HSV
Hamburger SV fell behind Sandhausen early on – an own goal by van Drongelen (13th) and a goal from Behrens (21st) set the course for Sanshausen early on.
Hamburg, where Harnik is only in action in the first half, comes back in the second half – a converted penalty from Hunt (62nd) makes the fight for promotion even more exciting.
In the final phase, however, Vagnoman spanked the Hamburgers every chance of promotion with a penalty foul – Behrens surely transforms (83.). Engels (89.) and Diekmeier (90 + 3.) Even make the HSV debacle perfect.
Lukas Hinterseer is on the bench near Hamburg, Louis Schaub is not in the squad. Keeper Martin Fraisl is at Sandhausen on the pitch throughout the game.
Bielefeld makes relegation races exciting
Arminia Bielefeld does not leave Heidenheim, who had all the cards in hand before the matchday to reach the relegation, no chane. Klos (14th) and Voglsammer (17th) put the champion in front early. Clauss even made it 3-0 in the second half (54th).
Manuel Prietl is on the pitch for Bielefeld throughout the game. Heidenheim’s Konstantin Kerschbaumer is replaced in half.
For Heidenheim, the relegation is now about promotion to the Bundesliga. Already on Thursday (8:30 p.m.) it goes against Werder Bremen. The second leg will take place the following Monday.
ÖFB legionnaires in check:
Manuel Prietl (Bielefeld) – 90 minutes
Konstantin Kerschbaumer (Heidenheim) – up to the 46th minute, yellow
