John Clay Wolfe stumbled right into a collection of classic cars. He got into a barn in Alabama, USA, which hid 23 vehicles, including rare cars with minimal mileage. He estimates the price of the collection at around one million dollars, i.e. about 23 million crowns.
At the same time, Wolfe describes the place where the collection was located as a small and inconspicuous barn, which certainly does not look like a space that should hide such a treasure.
Among the 23 machines, we can find nine Chevrolet Corvettes, three pick-ups and various classic and modern American sports cars. And some are practically uneaten.
The most interesting models include the 1990 Corvette ZR-1 with 25 miles (about 40 km), the 1979 Corvette Stingray with 41 miles (66 km) on the odometer, or the 1990 Chevrolet 454 SS with 19 miles (31 km ).
Some of the cars even still have factory protection in which the manufacturer “wrapped” them for delivery.
The oldest car is a Ford Mustang from 1965, the collection also includes Chevrolet C10s from 1966, a Camaro SS 396 from 1968 and a Corvette from 1971, but the collection also includes a modern muscle car – the Chevrolet Camaro SS from 2010. And with a mileage of just 47 miles (76 km).
The Ford F-150 SVT Lightning pickup from 1999 (46 miles; 74 km) or the Lincoln Continental from 1973 (830 miles; 1,336 km) boast low numbers on the odometer.
The impressive collection was put together by businessman Earl Trammel, who died last year. Through his ex-wife, the already mentioned John Clay Wolfe got access to the cars, who eventually bought the collection. And now he’s thinking about what to do with the cars. He will probably offer some at auction next year, but he is not sure. Maybe he’ll keep them all in the end. So we’ll see…
