European equities
European equity indices posted heavy losses at the end of the trading week, as follows:
- The Stoxx 600 is down by 1.2% at the end of trading.
- The closing Italian MIB index was down 1.1%.
- The UK FTSE index is the least affected among European stocks at the end of trading, only down 0.1%.
- The French CAC Index was down 1.1% at the close.
- The Spanish IBEX index recorded a significant loss of 0.8% by the end of trading.
- The German DAX index was the biggest loser among European stocks at the close, with a high of 1.5%.
By the end of trading on Thursday, European equities fell significantly on concerns about European inflation following the release of the results of the European Central Bank meeting, which spoke of tightening monetary policy to curb high inflation , which had a negative impact on Europe stock trading at close.
