Abigail Disney, the daughter of Roy Disney and Walt’s great-niece, strongly criticizes the company that owes its name to that of her family. The filming of films and series has stopped, less merchandise is being sold and all Disney theme parks and resorts are closed. For that reason, Disney has sent all its park staff and other cheap workers – 100,000 people in total – on unpaid leave.

Unpaid leave means Disney can save about $ 500 million a month. At the same time, management still receives bonuses. For that reason, more and more people are questioning the choice of Disney to leave its cheapest employees all unpaid at home. That while the company has roughly $ 20 billion in cash.
Abigail Disney doesn’t like it, and although she has no formal place within the company, her comments often have an effect. She is not very happy with the way Disney treats its staff. She thinks it is crazy that the plan is still to pay $ 1.5 billion in bonuses to management in July.
