In a video of almost half an hour, and showing graphs of various economic indices in the country, López Obrador reported that according to figures from the Mexican Institute of Social Security (IMSS), in July there was a loss of jobs of just over 3 thousand, compared to 550 thousand in April, caused by the pandemic.
“We are hopeful that we will get ahead, we are optimistic and we have foundations, there are reasons to support our optimism. In the case of our country, we have maintained that this economic crisis is going to have a drawing, a V shape; that is to say that we fell and we are going to leave, we are going to recover soon.
“I believe that there is the heart of the matter, the economies are going to fall, but here the important thing is how we are going to recover, who are going to recover sooner and better, and who are going to maintain economies, with growth, but at the same time, healthy finances, without debt because different strategies are applied.

“In the case of us, we decided in the crisis to support from below, instead of upwards, not to inject from the top down, as has always been done and this strategy is giving us results.

He reported that according to IMSS figures, in July there was a loss of 3,430 jobs, compared to 550,000 in April.
“I said that we hit rock bottom and that we are leaving. In April, 555 thousand jobs were lost; in May, 340 thousand jobs; in June, 82 thousand jobs; and in July, I have the data, until yesterday they were only lost in all of July 3 1,430 jobs.
