Strategic goals for the Diocese of Würzburg

Würzburg (POW) In the Diocese of Würzburg, a twelve-person project team has drafted strategic goals. The Würzburg Catholic Sunday newspaper reported on this in its current issue of February 26.

The strategic goals should be a kind of signpost for the diocese. The project team is moderated by Ordinariatsrat Deacon Dr. Martin Faatz. He gives an insight into the direction in which the diocese is likely to move. Supporting the church in the parishes is a priority for the diocese, assures Faatz. The people in the congregations and pastoral spaces are therefore the bearers of church life on site. At the same time, there should be increased cooperation with non-church actors such as municipalities, authorities, associations and initiatives in the future. Caritas and pastoral care should also flow into one another even more than before. The strategic goals are initially discussed in committees of the diocese. There will also be priorities. With their help, it should ultimately be possible to concentrate finances and personnel on specific areas. The goals are to be presented publicly at a diocesan forum on June 17 in Würzburg. The Sunday newspaper also presents the Church of Saints Peter and Paul in Dettingen am Main. It was built 100 years ago. The church is considered the first modern church in Germany and a unique work of art of German Expressionism. In addition, the diocesan office is looking for suitable graphics to advertise the ministry. Active altar servers between the ages of eight and 26 who design graphics and submit them to the specialist office by March 31st can win prizes. Information about the call for applications is available online at ministranten.bistum-wuerzburg.de/aktuelles/nachrichten/ansicht/ansicht/grafik-ausschreibung.
