Strasbourg. Trumpet and organ in Saint-Pierre-le-Jeune

The next Friday night concert in Saint-Pierre will pay tribute to the classic duo always appreciated on the trumpet and the organ. Roselyne Koeniguer, organist from St-Pierre-le-Jeune, and trumpeter Frédéric Schiel will perform classical works by Martini, Albinoni, Buxtehude and Bach. Roselyne Koeniguer is the titular organist of the great organ Silbermann of the collegiate church of Saint-Pierre-le-Jeune. She was trained at the Conservatoire National de Région de Strasbourg, where she obtained the Certificate of Graduation in piano in the class of Fabienne Matz, then a Gold Medal unanimously with the congratulations of the organ jury.

She gives concerts as a soloist, as an accompanist, or in chamber formation. She accompanies many choirs, both on the piano and the organ. She plays regularly with the Strasbourg Philharmonic Orchestra.

Two “jack-of-all-trades”

She also performs at the Opéra du Rhin. Since 2008, she has been the accompanist of the Petits Chanteurs de Strasbourg – Maîtrise of the Opéra National du Rhin. She was invited by “Musique au Pays de Hanau” and took part in the contemporary music festival Musica, as part of a Georges Aperghis residency. Frédéric Schiel began studying music at the age of four at the Neudorf music school where he joined Jean-Daniel Volet’s class. He continued his studies at the Conservatory of Strasbourg in the class of Patrice Porté where he obtained a gold medal in 1997. He obtained the same year a 1st prize unanimously from the city of Paris in the class of Antoine Curé.

He is currently Cornet solo at the Orchester des Gardiens de la Paix in Paris and professor of trumpet at the Strasbourg Conservatory and at the Saverne music school. At the same time as his position, he is regularly called upon to play in groups such as the Strasbourg Philharmonic Orchestra, the Mulhouse Symphony Orchestra, the Nancy Symphony and Lyric Orchestra and the Lille National Orchestra.

His interest in many musical universes allows him to perform as well as a soloist accompanied by chamber orchestras such as the Kammerorchester of Kehl or the Franco-German chamber orchestra of Wissembourg, as to participate in the recording of a pop rock album with a French group. Frédéric Schiel is also president of the Wonderbrass Ensemble, well known in Alsace.

This Friday, July 16, at 7:30 p.m. and 9 p.m. at the Protestant Saint-Pierre-le-Jeune church, Place Saint-Pierre-le-Jeune in Strasbourg. Free entry, tray. Mask and distancing required.
