Sylvia Damayanti or better known as Kamaya idol shared her story when she decided to convert from Islam to Christianity.
Taught as a good Muslim, Kamaya admitted that her life was greatly helped by the Lord Jesus. Kamaya decided to convert to Christianity on February 16, 2013 ago.
“I accepted the Lord Jesus as my Lord and savior, but it was through my personal process and experience with God after I realized that nothing was a coincidence until finally I was at the point of following Jesus nothing was a coincidence,” said Kamaya Idol on YouTube TV Diaspora.
At that time, Kamaya was invited by her lover who is now her husband to fly to Israel.
“The first time I got out of the airport and set foot, I remember I said to him, ‘If God allows me to go there, I will definitely set foot there,’ and that gave me goosebumps. It was a moment for me, I pray like this ‘Please, Lord, show me which God is right,'” he said.
There he went to Jordan River, where Jesus was baptized. Kamaya was baptized there. Before doing the christening, Kamaya had time to think about family, friends and work. But God gave a determination until finally Kamaya decided to change religion.
“When I was about to get baptized, I also had parents, family, friends, work, but for some reason I didn’t make it an obstacle at that time,” he said.
“All I knew at that moment was that I had to step forward and I gave myself up to be baptized so quickly. The process took years maybe like a drop but when it was put together it all made sense, it all became like puzzle complete, “he continued Kamaya Idol.
