The Greek Meteorological Service issued an emergency bulletin with information about dangerous precipitation, storms and hail tonight, BNR reported.
Authorities in Greece are calling for travel only when absolutely necessary.
The cyclone continues – strong wind, torrential rains and hail is expected in some places. According to the forecast of the National Meteorological Service, the rainfall, which has already started in the southern part of the country, will intensify within a few hours. The cold front is also heading towards the northern part of Greece.
Today in the area of the cyclone hit the island of Zakynthos, where a tornado hit several hotels. Damage has been done. No one was injured. In Nafpaktos, trees fell on cars. On the island of Lesbos, the ground floors of houses and shops were flooded. There are many flooded homes and roads in the Elijah region, where authorities are taking action against a new wave of torrential rains tonight.
The Civil Protection warns to avoid traveling tonight.
