More than 51,000 healthcare professionals have been infected with Covid-19 in Spain since the coronavirus pandemic began. A health crisis marked by eternal working hours, a shortage of protective material, a lack of tests to detect the disease, precarious contracts and situations harmful to the health of doctors.
“They have not taken care of us, nor protected us”, expresses a doctor through her Twitter profile, “Not even the vast majority, studied. “This is my feeling and the collective. And surely it is shared by the rest of the health categories,” continues this doctor in her publication that has obtained more than 2,000 likes and almost 200 responses in less than 24 hours. “We need adequate protections, hours to rest and good organization from above. The rest, we know how to do. It is one more job, “she says in response to a user.
“Things can’t go on like this”
Among the comments in support of her words, some users admit that they have also had the same idea as her. “All reason, I have thought that it was still time to quit, considering the lack of protection to which we have been subjected, but I don’t know if it was cowardice or seeing those patients and I thought that they don’t deserve it, that we leave them hanging, “responds a UCI health officer.
