The now 32-year-old Defour is a youth product of Malinwa, but he made his professional debut for KRC Genk.
During his career, Defour never made it a secret that he wanted to play for the first team of KVM.
It is not that far yet, but Defour will participate in the yellow-red group training sessions from tomorrow.
“Steven is a free agent after his contract with Antwerp and asked whether it was possible to maintain his fitness at KV Mechelen”, it sounds in Mechelen.
“We cannot refuse this question from a former youth player of that caliber, so we welcome Steven to the youth fields where it all started for him.”
According to KVM, it will not get further than some training. “There are absolutely no contract negotiations at the moment.”
