Stay Safe During Rainy Season: Combat Dengue Fever with Prevention Measures

Alert ! Dengue Fever Haunts in the Rainy Season

Tubankab – Entering the rainy season, people need to be aware of dengue hemorrhagic fever (DHF) and a number of diseases that easily attack the body.

This was conveyed by the Head of the Health, Population Control and Family Planning Service (Dinkes-P2KB) through the Head of the Disease Prevention and Control Division of the Tuban P2KB Health Office Ratna Sari when met in his office, Thursday (18/01).

Ratna appealed that prevention of dengue fever can be done through the mosquito nest eradication movement (PSM) and 3M plus, namely covering, draining and burying used goods, plus preventing the existence of mosquito nests around the residence.

“During the rainy season, there are several diseases that easily attack the body, namely dengue fever, flu, coughs, diarrhea and skin diseases,” he explained.

Regarding this, the public is asked to cultivate a culture of clean and healthy living as a preventive measure so that they are not susceptible to various diseases.

“One of them is ensuring there is no stagnant water, so that the Aides aegypti mosquito does not use it to nest and reproduce,” he said.

Ratna also emphasized that dengue prevention must be done every day and as early as possible. One of the most effective ways is to maintain a clean and healthy lifestyle.

These preventive measures, continued Ratna, had an effect on the number of dengue fever cases in Tuban Regency which fell drastically. In 2022 there were 651 cases recorded, decreasing to 203 cases in 2023.

“The reduction in dengue fever numbers is also one of the government’s efforts to tackle dengue fever through PSM and 3M plus,” he concluded. (achmad choirudin/hey)
