State of emergency in Kosovo – they have legalized the electricity regime for 60 days

Kosovo’s parliament has declared a state of emergency and supported the government’s decision to urgent measures to limit energy supplies, reports b92.

The solution, which means that the reduction of energy supplies is becoming legal was adopted by 57 votes with 17 abstentions.

Emergency measures due to the energy crisis will be valid for a maximum of 60 days and include imposing restrictions on energy supplies to consumers and imposing special obligations on energy companies.

The decision provides for the formation of an emergency technical commission to determine and make recommendations to the Minister of Economy. The Commission’s task is to recommend the implementation of measures to address the negative effects of the economic crisis. Following the recommendations, the ministry should publish mandatory restrictive measures.

Parliament may extend the emergency measures for another 30 days.
