State Insurance Fund Corporation (CFSE) Resumes Operations After False Alert of Suspicious Device

The management of the State Insurance Fund Corporation (CFSE) opted to resume its operations this afternoon, Friday, after the building was evacuated after receiving a false alert about the presence of an alleged suspicious device on site.

He Lieutenant Noel Colondirector of the Eastern Region of the Explosives Trading of the Police Bureauindicated to The new day that an employee of the Addiction and Mental Health Services Administration (Assmca) called the 9-1-1 emergency system to notify that someone had told him that a suspicious device had been placed in the CFSE building located in Bayamón.

“CFSE security personnel activated the internal protocol, evacuated the building and proceeded to carry out an initial search, since they are the ones who know the building best. They searched all the floors and did not find a suspicious device. Our staff then conducted a second search and no suspicious artifact was found either. Not finding any artifacts, CFSE management decided to continue its operations”, highlighted the officer by telephone.

“Now we will verify where the call was made from and who made it. I cannot give the details of when the call originated because that is part of the investigation,” Colón stressed.

Members of the Metro Explosives Division, the Metro Canine Unit and CFSE security personnel collaborated in the search.
