Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Minister of Health and Population, chaired the meeting of the High Commission for Appointments, in its entirety, in the presence of Dr. Ashraf Hatem, Chair of the Health Committee in the House of Representatives, Dr. Karim Badr, Secretary of the Health Commission, and the captains of human doctors, dentists, pharmacists, physiotherapists and nurses, in the general office of the Ministry of Health.
At the beginning of the meeting, the Minister of Health stressed the importance of the role of the Higher Committee for the assignment and the importance of the presence of its members from various trade unions and competent authorities, in solving all the challenges facing the medical service providers.
Dr. Hossam Abdel Ghaffar, an official spokesperson for the Ministry of Health and Population, said the minister was briefed on the study on the number of manpower in medical professions to which the assignment law addresses the Ministry of Health and its affiliates The study included the total number of doctors, pharmacists, specialist nurses and all medical service providers in the workplace, the deficit rates, the average annual number of graduates and the average increase expected over the next five years.
He added that the minister discussed at the meeting the rules governing the assignment process and the mechanisms for dividing taxpayers to all recipients by law, according to the needs of the health system, to fill the deficit.
Abdel Ghaffar said that Dr. Khaled Abdel Ghaffar stressed the need to open new fields for pharmacists in coordination with the Supreme Council of Universities and the Supreme Council of University Hospitals in accordance with the following in global health systems, emphasizing the it is important that the requests received from the authorities express a real need, given the deficit in the number of health service providers and the equity of geographical distribution in all governorates.
