Cloud Imperium Games has published a new video for the Star Citizen space simulator, which has dedicated Actor Status to the mechanics of survival. The mechanics of Actor Status will add some elements of survival to Star Citizen. In the video, the developer showed that players are waiting in the future.
In short, you will need to do more than just eat rations when you are hungry, or put on a jacket in cold weather. Instead, the Cloud Imperium Games team is focused on realistic planetary conditions. Each planet will have temperature, humidity and wind speed. Players will need to take all this into account in order to properly equip themselves on a journey around the world.
The hero will react to the weather – a low body temperature, for example, can lead to hypothermia and ultimately death. Food, however, will still help to cope with some difficulties. So, you can drink some water to cool, or eat to restore stamina. Some medications will also provide a slight restoration of health.
Star Citizen has been in development since 2011. The game will offer not only space travel, but also shootouts on planets or stations, as well as trade, research and missions outside the ship. The project is announced for release only on a PC.
