Staff continuity also guaranteed during exams

The current school year 2021/22 will end soon. This was associated with many organizational challenges, among other things due to the nationwide introduction of compulsory vaccination for teaching staff. The state government dealt with this issue on Tuesday. Specifically, it is about the pedagogical staff who replace teachers who violate the vaccination obligation that applies until June 15 for more than 90 days.

The state government has now decided that this educational staff will remain employed for the period of the exams. This means that the substitute teachers are also entitled to the summer salary if they meet all the applicable requirements.

The requirements include that they have been in the service for at least 7 months and that the employment relationship also existed at the end of school or during the period of the final examinations. The note on this was prepared by the three education directorates and the human resources department and presented by the four responsible provincial councilors Philipp Achammer (German education), Giuliano Vettorato (Italian education) and Daniel Alfreider (Ladin education).

“This decision is being made for the good of the students. After all, they have the right, especially if they have to face a final exam, to be accompanied by the teacher who has prepared them for this important exam in the past few weeks,” says Provincial Councilor Achammer with conviction.
