STAEDTLER painting competition: 20,000 euros for better education in Rwanda

How could children get to know the world better than through their own creativity! That is why STAEDTLER organized its third international painting competition for the benefit of Plan International last year.

As part of the World Children’s Painting Day on May 6th, children between the ages of 3 and 12 were invited to submit their pictures under the motto “Foreign Galaxies”. The company supported a school project in Rwanda with 1 euro for each picture, which enables children to have a better education.

A total of around 7,000 children took part and submitted great works. Due to the corona pandemic, the number of participants was lower this time. Since the project in Rwanda should still be supported with full force, STAEDTLER rounded the amount up to the proud sum of 20,000 euros.

The success of the painting competitions is also thanks to the commitment of Plan’s voluntary action groups, which motivate children in daycare centers and schools to participate every year. They also give exciting insights into Plan’s projects and report on the life situations of children around the world.

We thank STAEDTLER and all participants for the great support and look forward to many pictures again from May 2021! Because it is allowed to continue painting, this time under the motto “We discover nature – on land”. All information about this year’s painting competition will be available on our website from March.
