The The Ministry of Health delayed the start of the campaign for a month influenza vaccination 2021-2022Therefore, with the application of 32 million 328 thousand 200 doses for the national territory, immunization will begin on November 3.
Of the doses to be applied, 15 million correspond to the Ministry of Health. The agency detailed that all health institutions have the necessary supplies and people to attend to the target population, which is:
- Girls and boys from six to 59 months
- Older adults
- Pregnant women
- Health personnel
- Those who live with risk factors for complications in case of infection
With the commitment of the producing company and the vaccine release processes carried out by the Federal Commission for Protection against Sanitary Risks (Cofepris) to guarantee the innocuousness, safety and quality of the vaccines, the distribution of the doses will begin in the second half of October to reach the most remote places in the country and formally start at the scheduled time.
So far, in Mexico the behavior of influenza is in parameters below the usual thanks to the sanitary measures implemented against the coronavirus pandemic: frequent hand washing, use of face masks and healthy distance.
The flu season 2021-2022 In the northern hemisphere, it ranges from week 40 of 2021 to week 20 of 2022. During that season, an increase in the number of cases of this disease is generally expected, with its maximum peak of infections during the months of January and February.
