Spring-like temperatures coming days, but heat is short-lived NOW

A spring-like period is expected in the coming days with sunny periods, little wind and temperatures that can reach 18 degrees, weather agency Weerplaza reports Monday. Wednesday will be the mildest day of the week. On Thursday the wind turns and the spring-like period ends with a northern to eastern cold air stream.

The coming days will be characterized by an alternation of clouds and sun, a moderate southwest wind and temperatures of about 10 to 15 degrees, says meteorologist Wilfred Jansen of Weerplaza. Although the sky will close a bit on Monday evening, the rain that can fall is not much.

“The mildest day of the week is Wednesday. Temperatures vary from 12 to 18 degrees in the south of the Netherlands. On the coast it gets a few degrees colder”, says Jansen. The weather is good to sit outside. “And as long as we don’t have to stay indoors, a walk in this weather is certainly not wrong.”

The beautiful weather is short-lived: on Thursday the warm southern wind turns and a cold airflow comes towards the country. This also increases the chance of rain at the end of the week. During the weekend it will remain dry, but temperatures are a lot lower than the spring-like temperatures we are treated to this week.

However, the first models show that the southern wind returns after the weekend. “Because there is a high pressure area near the country, it seems that we will get calm weather, it will stay dry and there is plenty of room for the sun.”
