Special: The beautiful moon Europa of Destiny 2: Beyond Light portrayed

Special: The beautiful moon Europa of Destiny 2: Beyond Light portrayed – With the release of Beyond Light for Destiny 2, we can set foot in a completely new environment: Europe. In case you missed it, Europa is a moon of Jupiter made mostly of ice, which of course makes for a new face. It’s a location we haven’t visited before in the franchise, but that doesn’t mean it’s completely uncharted territory. There have been people once, where a few things can be seen, but the majority is buried under the ice. An interesting location to explore and we have been doing that for the past few days.

Refreshing step forward

Beyond Light really feels like an innovative step forward with Europe, because we are literally presented with a fresh new environment. The expansion has enough to offer in terms of story, Strikes and soon also the Raid in terms of activities and then it is only ‘scratching the surface’ for now, because Beyond Light also has a lot of novelties to offer in terms of gameplay, including Stasis. We will cover the total experience soon, today we want to take you on a journey through the places at this new location.

We are mainly concerned with the surface area, because we do not want to give too much away. In addition, the screenshots are an indication of the surroundings, which in reality looks even more spectacular. Because let one thing be clear, Europe is really a beautiful location and we will still play it on the PlayStation 4. Let alone what it will look like on the PlayStation 5 in December when the switch is made.

Europe

The first images you see as soon as you set foot on Europe. Initially, you get to play a closed event that introduces the story. Afterwards, the standard starting point is Charon’s Crossing from which you can reach the other locations.

Charon’s Crossing

As already mentioned, this is the point where you usually start your adventures on Europe, unless you choose a different landing zone. This is also where the Beyond Light launch mission ends and where you can find Variks, who this time plays an important role in the story.

Asterion Abyss

Shortly after Charon’s Crossing you end up in Asterion Abyss where the traces of earlier constructions can still be seen. In addition, this is a fairly large ice plain with unprecedented views. You can also see the ruins at Nexus in the distance.

Eventide Ruins

A little further after Asterion Abyss there is another ice sheet, but it cannot be entered. It sometimes shows the enormously icy environment, because it almost looks like an infinite South Pole. This is also where you will find the largest ruins in Europe, where indoor locations play with color schemes in a creative way. It is not only beautiful outside, it also looks very sleek inside.

Cadmus Ridge

From there we travel to Cadmus Ridge, which connects with Charon’s Crossing a little further on. Traces of buildings can also be seen here, but they are mainly buried under the ice. From here you can also see the enormous Pyramid that has landed on Europe and you will also find a branch of Bray Exoscience, which is a division of Braytech that you of course know from their location on Mars.

As mentioned, this is actually only the surface of Europe and of course there are also plenty of locations where you can enter, but we should not give everything away of course. We will be going deeper into all new content soon and if you want to play Beyond Light, you can here go to PlayStation Store for the expansion.
