This year’s part of the Call of Duty series should be in charge of the developers from the Sledgehammer Games studio, and according to the speculation so far, it will be Modern Warfare III. Under normal circumstances, we would already have a clear picture in May or June, but the reveal of the next sequel is taking quite a long time. But if you are impatient, we can quite boldly state that the announcement could be around the corner, because a special presentation of the game took place during the past weekend, from which several photos were also released to the public. Activision and representatives of the developers presented the new game to selected basketball players, regardless of the fact that many players do not understand this targeting. But Activision did not work with athletes in connection with one of the most famous events in video game history for the first time, and apparently sees the influence of individual players as beneficial in the context of the American audience.

According to an insider with the nickname Charlie Intel, who shared some of the published photos and posts, the presentation took place during the NBA Summer League in Las Vegas. For example, the player Ishmail Wainright, who has been playing in the NBA for the Phoenix Suns since 2021, or the agent of NBA players Deirunas Visockas were on the spot. In a not very flashy environment, probably in one of the hotels, there were several PS5 stations available, but according to the photos, Warzone was running on them. It is, of course, a question whether there was an opportunity to play the new part as well – and not take pictures of it – or it was just a diversion after the presentation, but Charlie Intel is sure that the players saw the news. The sail with the logo and its glowing image on the wall are worth noting, especially because of the font change. The same logo also appears in the header of the official accounts on social networks and is undoubtedly a novelty for this year and probably the following years as well.
As for the game itself, we can really only go by speculation at this point, either from Tom Henderson or Jason Schreier. Both agree that it will be a continuation of the Modern Warfare line, although at first there was talk of an expansion, but later a full-fledged sequel. In addition to Sledghammer Games, the Infinity Ward studio is also supposed to participate in the development, but only in the role of a supervisor. Alleged images leaked from the game in mid-June, but they quickly disappeared from Twitter wishes of the copyright holder. This was taken by the players as a confirmation of their authenticity, and at the moment the community has no doubts that there will be another part modern and follows on from last year’s episode. According to the Insider Gaming website, the game’s launch is scheduled for August 1st, which would be in line with the fact that some part of the marketing plan is already starting to run. If Tom Henderson was right, there will probably be other dates, for example, related to the beta version (October 6-10) and, in the final, a possible release on November 10.
