Spanish Elections: Socialists and Opposition Right-Wing Party Tied in Votes

Moscow. 23 July. INTERFAX.RU – The Socialist Party of Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez and the opposition right-wing People’s Party are still gaining approximately the same number of votes – about 30% – in the elections to the Spanish parliament, more than 60% of the ballots are counted, which publishes ABC edition.

According to these data, the Socialists – 32.7%, the Right – 31.3%. Thus, at the moment, the Sanchez party receives 128 seats, the People’s Party – 131.

The far-right Holos party is currently in third place with 12.4%, which gives it 33 seats. The left coalition “Sumar” can count on 30 seats, it has 12%.

For a majority in parliament, 176 seats are needed.

In the first stages of the vote count, the results indicated the advantage of the socialists, but then, as new data became available, it began to melt.

Spaniards on Sunday voted in the general election, which was held early after the dissolution of Parliament in May.
