The son of a renowned Spanish actor admitted to having murdered and dismembered a Colombian man in Thailand, with whom he was apparently on vacation to appreciate the full moon festivities.
Last Thursday, authorities on the island of Koh Pha Ngan found human remains in a garbage dump. The local police pointed to Daniel Sancho Bronchalo, who confessed to the crime on Friday, August 4 and, in addition to planning the murder, dumped the remains of the body in garbage bags and in the sea.
Authorities also found human remains in the hotel room, where they presume the crime occurred.
“Daniel (Sancho) tried to cover up the crime by lying where he had stayed. He reserved two rooms and planned everything, as he previously bought items such as knives, garbage bags and cleaning supplies,” said Surapong Thanomjit, commander of Thailand’s provincial police region 8.

Surveillance camera images show Daniel accompanied by Edwin Arrieta Arteaga, a plastic surgeon of Colombian origin, on a motorcycle days before the victim’s remains were found. International media say that the motive for murdering the 44-year-old doctor was out of “jealousy” and fear of being “cheated.”
Last Thursday, August 3, Daniel Sancho reported Edwin’s disappearance. The young man went to a Kho Phan Gan police station. He is now in the custody of the authorities.
