Spain enters at high risk for coronavirus by exceeding 305 cases per 100,000 inhabitants

The statistics that the coronavirus has left this Thursday indicate that Spain will not have a quiet Christmas if the figures continue to rise as before. The last 48 hours have been a real viral bomb in our country, which already exceeds 305 cases per 100,000 inhabitants and has officially entered high risk for coronavirus.

The Ministry of Health has officially notified 26,412 new infections and up to 84 more deaths due to coronavirus since last Tuesday, which represents devastating figures that are beginning to worry, even more if possible, with the omicron variant already circulating throughout the planet and with several cases reported in Spain.

The total number of infections notified in our country since the pandemic began is 5,273,178, while the number of fatalities rises to 88,321, while some experts have continued to point out throughout these months that there is a figure higher than the officially notified, so It cannot be ruled out that the total figure is greater than 100,000.

Success in the vaccination campaign

Despite the bad data that the pandemic is leaving in recent days, there is something in which Spain is notably standing out in the world, and that is in the vaccination campaign. Such is so even the WHO director himself, Tedros Adhanom, has congratulated our country by the number of vaccinated, becoming considered a benchmark in the world.

Specifically, our country has already vaccinated fully to 89.5% of the population, which could exceed 90% before the end of 2021. On the other hand, 91.3% of the Spanish citizens have received at least one dose of the vaccine, and 94 have already been administered , 8% of the vaccines available in stock in Spain.

The following days will be crucial to know what measures will be taken for the Christmas season, although already some autonomous communities are applying the COVID passport requesting the pertinent endorsement of justice and others are processing it.
