SP crisis plan for the Vienna election on October 11

Negotiations with the green coalition partner have started.

Vienna. The blast effect of postponing the Danube Island Festival to September 18-20 is only a small part of the new campaign strategy of the Vienna SPÖ for the municipal council election planned for October.
Always provided that Michael Ludwig does not have to campaign for a two-thirds majority in the municipal council in the summer, after which the Vienna election will be postponed until 2021, Ludwig, SP manager Barbara Novak and the closest circle of the Vienna SPÖ have a first timetable for the Viennese Done choice:

Virtual May 1st. The SPÖ rally on May 1st at Rathausplatz is definitely canceled – Novak explained that this event would take place “virtually” via the Internet.

Party conference is canceled. The party congress planned for May 16, including the decision of the candidate lists for the election, is also canceled – in June the Vienna SP committee is to approve the list, while observing all security measures, an application party congress will only take place after the Vienna election.

Campaign start. At the start of school on September 7, a short, hot, intensive election campaign is to be started, as was most recently demonstrated by Johanna Mikl-Leitner in Lower Austria and Hans Peter Doskozil in Burgenland.

Poster-free Danube Island. According to Novak, the Danube Island Festival from September 18 to 20 should be a folk festival for all Viennese and guaranteed free of election campaigns without folders, posters and Co. – which the SP hopes will increase sympathy.

Elected on October 11th. If the virus is largely defeated by summer, Michael Ludwig will then vote in Vienna on October 11th. Negotiations are currently taking place behind the scenes with the green coalition partner.

Five weeks. If Hebein says yes, then Ludwig wants to throw his bonus in full in the five weeks between the start of school and October 11th. With a personality election campaign, the city chief wants to march towards 40 percent in the municipal council election.
