The exchange rate climbed to S / 3,448, 0.55% more than the close on Friday, at S / 3,429, according to data from the Central Reserve Bank of Peru (BCRP).

So far this year, the greenback has accumulated an increase of 4.04%, compared to the end of 2019, at S / 3,314.
Globally, the dollar was strengthening today, ending a week of declines, as investors braced themselves for a prolonged period of uncertainty as governments tightened quarantines and launched stimulus measures to fight the coronavirus.
Over the past two weeks, the dollar first recorded its biggest weekly rise since the 2008 financial crisis and then its biggest weekly crash since 2009. Signs of financial stress have eased, but not disappeared, as demand for cash persists.
