The roads on the mountain passes in southern Norway are not much to brag about. On the main roads, however, driving conditions are very good.

From Gaustablikk down towards Rjukan in Telemark, there are reports of very slippery roads. A queue has formed as a result of the conditions, and the cars are waiting for improvement.

– We have reported the need for a litter truck, and it is on its way. We get more feedback from the audience that there are many people standing there. They are just waiting for the straggler, says traffic operator Sarah Bendiksen to VG.

Bendiksen says there are very varied driving conditions around southern Norway. On the main roads, excellent conditions are reported, while on side roads and the mountain pass the reality is different.

– There is a lot of snow and wind in several places. Other areas have received rain on the ground which is freezing. Fortunately, traffic has been going well so far.

These mountain passes are closed.

  • E134 Haukelifjell
  • Fv. 50 Hoi-Aurland
  • Rev. 7 Hardangervidda
  • Rev. 15 Strynefjellet
  • Rev. 52 Hemsedalsfjellet

On the E16 Filefjell there is a convoy.

– It is clear that the mountain passes have the biggest challenges, concludes the traffic operator.
