South Tangerang Health Office: No Cases of Mysterious Acute Hepatitis have been reported yet

TEMPO.CO, Jakarta – The South Tangerang City Health Office asks residents to always be aware of the disease Mysterious Acute Hepatitis which is currently attacking children.

“After the World Health Organization declared an Extraordinary Event in the case of Acute Hepatitis, the cause of which was not yet known (Acute Hepatitis of Unknown Etiology) which has attacked children in Europe, America and Asia since April 15, 2022,” said the head of the city’s Health Service South Tangerang Allin Hendarlin Mahdaniar in a written statement, Saturday 7 May 2022.

For today, Saturday, May 7, 2022, said Allin, health service facilities in the city of South Tangerang have not yet reported acute hepatitis in children whose cause is unknown.

“We urge the community to be careful and stay calm. Prevent acute hepatitis in children by diligently washing hands with soap, make sure the food is mature and clean,” he said.

In addition, Allin said, he appealed to children not to change eating utensils with other people, avoid contact with sick people, keep their homes and environment clean and carry out daily activities. health protocol.

“If the child has symptoms of jaundice, abdominal pain, sudden vomiting and diarrhea, old tea-colored urine, pale stools, seizures, decreased consciousness, immediately check the child to the nearest health service facility,” he said.

According to Allin, the South Tangerang city government also asked all health workers and health service facilities to implement infection prevention and control.

“Especially for viral infections and if you find a case like that, you should immediately report it to the South Tangerang City Health Office,” he said.
