This Wednesday, South Carolina recorded this Wednesday new earthquakes near the capital of the states.
They were two telluric movements, which are added to eight more that have been registered in recent days; which have put geologists in check and with many doubts about the origin and duration of these earthquakes.
South Carolina recorded strange earthquakes on Wednesday morning there was a 2.6 magnitude earthquake near Elgin, about 40 kilometers (25 miles) northeast of Columbia, according to the United States Geological Survey (USGS). It had a depth of 500 meters (0.3 miles), authorities said. About seven hours later there was a new earthquake in the area, of magnitude 1.5, according to the authorities.

Although tremors are not new in South Carolina, most tend to be registered near the coast and a year there are usually not more than 20, so these earthquakes have puzzled the specialists who study the area.
