At the beginning of September 2022, SOS Médecins will open a practice in the heart of downtown Dijon, place Saint-Bernard.
“Access to care in thes major city centers is not as simple as one imagines with the price of land which sometimes hinders the installation of health professionals“, analyse Réda Zerkaoui, president of SOS Médecins de Dijon.
This is why the association will open a practice in Place Saint-Bernard next September, fourteen years after inaugurating the consultation center in Chenôve. It was the patient population that brought up this “strong demand” to the sixteen practitioners who work under the banner of SOS Médecins.
“In the city center, there are elderly people who do not have a means of transport. There is also an audience of students. This center is aimed in particular at these profiles, for whom coming to Chenôve is not always easy“, continues Reda Zerkaoui.
Initially, a doctor will provide consultations in this new center, perhaps two. The organization is still under discussion within SOS Médecins.
One thing is certain, the practice will open its doors when the other GPs in the sector are closed: in the evening until midnight; weekends all day and also until midnight.
