In the men’s category, the youngsters Lorenz Schäfer (TTC Kist) and Konrad Haase (SB Versbach) both made it through their preliminary rounds, but were eliminated in the round of sixteen. Finn Braunz from Waldbüttelbrunn reached the final in the B tournament

In addition to the Bavarian championships of the strongest, the title fights in the B class also took place last weekend in Salzweg, Lower Bavaria. Finn Braunz and Maximilian Interwies started there for TSG Waldbüttelbrunn.

While Interwies was eliminated as an ungrateful third in the preliminary round, the only 15-year-old Braunz prevailed as the group winner. After a bye in the first knockout round, the young talent had three successes in a row. In the final, Braunz was unlucky to lose to Walter Ohms (TSV Zusmarshausen) in the fifth set 9:11, making him the Bavarian runner-up. In doubles, Braunz and Interwies were eliminated in the quarter-finals after five contested sets.
